Prof. Yantsislav Yanakiev, the Chair of the Governing Council of the Research Centre Regional and Global Development (REGLO), Sofia, Bulgaria participated in Media Literacy Observatory for Active Citizenship and Sustainable Democracy 5th Steering Committee Meeting (SCOM) and the Final International MELIA Observatory Conference 8th and 9th of November 2022 in Budapest, Hungary. The host and the main organizer for both activities was Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the SCOM and the conference developments and activities in the MELIA Period 5 were presented and discussed. Progress in each WP was presented by the WP leaders. Discussion and conclusions followed the presentations. In closing section, the plans for the future activities were discussed.
Prof. Yanakiev, as the leader of WPT.4 MELIA Observatory Pilot Testing, presented the results from the testing of capacity building tools developed in the framework of MELIA project (curriculum of training programs on media literacy and learning materials – textbooks and presentations) in Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia and Bulgaria. Besides, he also presented the results from benchmarking activities which were carried out in parallel with pilot testing to evaluate of the state of the art in media literacy in Romania, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
