REGLO hosted the 3rd Steering committee meeting of the MELIA Observatory project on 3rd December 2021.

The Research Centre Regional and Global Development (REGLO) hosted the 3rd Steering committee meeting of the MELIA Observatory project on 3rd December 2021. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting was organized again online and not in person as we are used to.
The focus of the discussion was on the work on thematic Work Packages. The substantive part of the work on the project was presented, such as mapping the media Literacy in the Danube Region, development of the observatory interface, media literacy training networks, Observatory’s pilots, and the importance of communication among project partners, target groups and stakeholders.
Special attention was put on the discussion of the implementation plan of WP T4 “MELIA Observatory Pilot testing”, led by REGLO. From January 2022 until the end of November 202 the toolkits for training elementary school and vocational school pupils, as well as youth educators will be tested. The target group of Pilot 1 will be elementary school pupils, and it will be implemented in Germany and Hungary. The second pilot 2 will focus on media literacy skills of vocational high-school students and will be implemented in the Czech Republic and Croatia. Finally, the third pilot will target youth educators (formal and informal) and it will be implemented in Slovenia and Bulgaria. Along with the three pilots, benchmark activities will be implemented in Romania, Montenegro, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The goal is to evaluate the state of the art in media literacy in these partner countries.
